FAQ

We get asked some questions a lot, so here are some of the most common and our answers

How long does it take for the weeds to die?

Most weeds that are less than a few millimeters in diameter, die within 2 - 3 weeks. For heavy infestations, established weeds, or larger woody varieties, a second application may be required.

Are the chemicals harmful?

There are several answers here. Broadly speaking, all chemicals used as herbicides are harmful in some way. Even the home remedies such as vinegar can be harmful to the environment. We use the correct PPE in the application process to protect the applicators and apply only the amount needed.

Pets should be kept away during the application process and for 24 hours post treatment.

We can discuss specific safety precautions based on the type of application.

How long does a treatment last?

General weed treatments typically used in residential areas only kill what is already there. Meaning that weeds that have not yet sprouted can start to grow at any time. Application of our dual action weed treatment kills what is already growing and inhibits new growth for up to 12 months. However, this is weather dependent and only an estimate based on manufacturers research.

Is the soil in my garden beds affected?

There are usually no residual effects when we treat garden beds. We only use chemicals appropriate for garden bed applications. Meaning the weeds die, but the soil and shrubs, plants or trees are left unaffected.

Can you poison trees?

Essentially, yes. Each project is different though and will require an assessment. Usually, the tree needs to be cut down prior to application.
